Fishing for
wahoo
is nearly always excellent during the winter
months in the Bahamas. That is why some of the
world's most prestigious wahoo events are held
in the Bahamas every season. With razor sharp
teeth, a wahoo often attacks straight up while
launching itself high into the air as it attacks
a lure. Although usually caught as individuals,
sometimes wahoo will roam the Bahamian offshore
waters in small "wolfpacks" and multiple hookups
can result. |

Billfish like
blue marlin,
white marlin,
and sailfish
are always an occasional
possibility on any fishing trip in the Bahamas.
The Fishin' Days is equipped with the proper
experience, lures, and terminal tackle (rods
and reels) to give you the best chance of
landing one of these magnificent trophies. |

Tuna are notorious for their
bulldogged fight doing large deep spirals under
the boat as the angler tries to gain control and
bring them boat side. Local Bahamian waters
offer occasional opportunities for both
yellowfin tuna
and blackfin
tuna. Tuna
travel in schools so when they strike it can be
several lines at the same time and quite the
"fire drill" on deck! |

Whether you call them
mah mahi,
dorado
or
dolphin
fish these beauties are a blast to catch. Mahi
are known for their ability to grow fast because
of their insatiable appetite to eat anything
they can catch. Mahi fishing continues to get
better with each passing month and is normally
peaking during our last month at Treasure Cay. |

Although not a normal target, large
barracuda
and
sharks
cruise the Bahamian
waters during the winter months. They are often
more of a bycatch for our clients but can still
provide quite a battle on the right tackle.
Catching and handling these sharp toothed
pelagic predators should always include a fair
amount of respect. |

Bottom fishing for
grouper
and
snapper
can be excellent. These tasty predators will
stay around any bottom structure or reefs and
can be caught by dropping a jig or bait near the
structure. Grouper and snapper always provide
great fun as well as some really good eating. |
